Dr. Steenblock has discovered that clinical lab tests show a high incidence of positive yeast antibodies in ALS patients. In addition, urine organic acid tests typically reveal fungal metabolites and most patients not surprisingly have a positive yeast stool culture. This linkage between yeast and ALS has received additional validation insofar as recent autopsy studies have shown that all or almost all ALS patients have a chronic yeast infection or else are having a reaction to yeast metabolites within their brain and spinal cord. These reactions create the over production of certain yeast destroying enzymes that can be measured in the patient’s blood. “The fact that ALS patient’s macrophages have 250 times more of this yeast fighting enzyme” continues Dr Steenblock, “May be yet another form of proof that yeast is either the major cause or a very significant portion of the cause of ALS.”
